Why it is important to use a UK registered Architect?
We are dedicated to providing a superior and personal professional service which co-ordinates the work of the Architect, the aspirations of the Client and the requirements of the Contractor.
The Architects Registration Board (ARB) is the body set up by Parliament as the independent UK regulator of Architects. Anyone who describes their business as an “Architect” must be on the Register of Architects. Professional Indemnity Insurance is mandatory for all ARB Registered Architects.
Under Section 20 of the Architects Act 1997, the title “Architect” is protected. It can only be used in business or practice by people who have had 7 years of University education, training and experience needed to become an Architect and who are Registered with the ARB, and certified by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
Most UK Architects have 2 University degrees (or equivalent) in Architectural Studies.
When someone uses the title “Architect”, it means that members of the public can check that they are dealing with a genuine and qualified professional, rather than any number of “Plans drawn” providers, “Design Consultants” or “Technologists” who may not be suitably qualified or Insured.
